Effingham County High School senior Hannah Boyd took top honors Tuesday in the annual speech contest sponsored by Effingham County’s two Rotary Clubs.

Three competitors from ECHS – Boyd, Tyson Neurath and Kieffer Shearouse – and three from South Effingham High School – Jordon Bala, Donald Quinones and Natalie Starling – gave speeches on this year’s topic, “Peace Through Service.”

The judges named Starling first runner-up, Quinones second runner-up and Bala third runner-up. Boyd, Starling, Quinones and Bala will represent Effingham County later this month in the district competition.
