A great jubilee celebration is planned for Sept. 16-19 at the Countryside Baptist Church.
In the last four years, Countryside has enjoyed tremendous growth, going from 50 people to almost 300 in their worship services. They have paid off a $240,000 debt while at the same time more than doubling the size of their auditorium.
The latest blessing is the opening of their Sunday school annex. This building has allowed them to expand their Sunday school to include a ladies class, a couple’s class, a junior high class, as well as more room for the high school class. All of this has been done totally debt free.
For the jubilee celebration, the Morris Singers from North Augusta, S.C. will be in concert Sept. 16 at 9:45 and 11 a.m. They will sing again at the evening service at 6 p.m.
Guest preachers for the celebration include Travis Sharpe, Charles Rogers and Dr. R. Larry Brown. Sharpe will speak Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 7 p.m. Rogers will preach Tuesday at 7 p.m. while Dr. Brown will lead on the final night at 7 p.m.
Countryside Baptist Church is located on Highway 30 across from South Effingham High School.
