Mr. and Mrs. Mark Caldwell of Guyton are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Megan Amber Caldwell, to Richard Jackson “R.J.” Dennard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Dennard of Soperton.
The bride-elect is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Eleanor Cook and the late Mr. Herman Cook of Guyton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. O.F. Sharpe, and the late Mrs. Shirley Sharpe, Mrs. Judy Caldwell, and the late Mr. A.J. Caldwell, all of Guyton. Megan attended Armstrong State University where she completed three years of pre-pharmacy course requirements prior to being accepted into the South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah. She is currently working to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and will graduate in June of 2017. She will be employed by Dennard Drugs in Soperton.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dennard and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hollister of Soperton. R.J. also attended Armstrong State University where he received a full baseball scholarship. During his four year tenure at Armstrong, he excelled on the baseball field in addition to completing course requirements in the pre-pharmacy program. At the end of his senior year, he was accepted into the South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah where he attended briefly in pursuit of a pharmacy degree. However, these plans were placed on hold in June of 2015, when his childhood dream became a reality and he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. He is currently employed by their baseball organization.
Megan and R.J. will be married Oct. 29 in Soperton.
