Steve and Peggy Smith of Springfield are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Megen Samantha Smith, to Clay Edward Conner, son of Charles and Sherry Conner of Brooklet.

The future bride is the Granddaughter of late Bobby and Kathleen Smith of Rincon and late Clinton and Lucie Zittrouer of Springfield. She is a 2007 graduate from Effingham County High School and a 2011 graduate from Georgia Southern University. She is currently employed as assistant softball coach at Armstrong State University.

The future groom is the grandson of Ann Conner and the late Bennie Conner of Stilson and Charles and Wilette Mallard of Statesboro. He graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 2005 and is currently employed at Georgia Ports Authority with the International Longshoreman Association as a stevedore.

The couple will exchange vows on October 10, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Springfield.

A reception will follow at the home of the bride following the service. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
