Rincon City Council honored former longtime council member Frank Owens at its last meeting for his years of service on the board.

Owens, known for ending his comments and emails with “that’s just my two cents,” was presented a plaque noting his years on the council — and with two pennies ensconced.

Owens served a total of 17 years on the city council, with his last stint running from 2010-2014. His first term began in 1990.

“We appreciate your two cents,” Rincon Mayor Ken Lee said, “and everything you gave us over the last four years. Thank you for serving with us.”
