The Rincon Walmart is partnering with United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Effingham Service Center to collect school supplies for students in need.
Large, specially-marked donation boxes have been placed at the Walmart entrances. The “fill the bus” drive began last week and continues through Aug. 31.
Part of a nationwide partnership between Walmart and United Way, the school supplies will be donated to the Effingham County schools deemed to have the greatest need.
“Prior to the start date for the drive, the Rincon Walmart already had received donations of school supplies from generous customers wanting to donate to the cause,” said store manager Lula Wilson.
