Van McCall, chief lending officer of AgSouth Farm Credit, announced that Adam Hebert has been promoted to commercial loan officer at AgSouth Farm Credit. Hebert is located in the Statesboro location at 40 S Main St. and will be primarily servicing Emanuel, Candler and Effingham counties.

Hebert is originally from Effingham County and attended South Effingham High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and advertising from the University of Georgia. Adam currently resides in Bulloch County, where he has been working as a loan officer for the past year. He is active in the Southeast Georgia UGA Alumni Association and works with the Candler, Effingham and Emanuel Young Farmers and FFA.  

“Adam has been a welcomed addition to our AgSouth team. He offers exemplary service to our customers and has already proven to be essential in growing our business,” said regional vice president Dewey Newton.

AgSouth Farm Credit is one of the largest lending cooperatives in the Southeast. As of Dec. 31, 2008, AgSouth had more than 6,800 members; $1.5 billion in assets; and $228 million in capital and allocated accounts.

AgSouth provides loans for agriculture, real estate, and rural homes, and offers leasing for automobiles, equipment, buildings and commercial operations. The association also makes secondary home loans for home purchases, home construction, home improvements and refinances.
