High school-age and older participants in the Lowcounty Down Syndrome Society Camp Buddy helped sort and pack food June 11 for Manna House’s weekly distribution on June 12.

Manna House is located on Patriot Drive in Rincon.

“They’re learning transferable skills that will prepare them for the workforce,” said Molly Marchese of LDSS. “People of all abilities can work; differently abled people can contribute.”

At Manna House, LDSS campers were busy sorting and bagging oranges, cucumbers, ears of corn, bags of shredded cheese and other items to be distributed to people who come to the food bank on Wednesday.

The food is donated to Manna House from America’s Second Harvest and about 400 people come through the line each week according to Manna House.
