The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a candidates’ forum, to be held Thursday night at the Effingham County Board of Education auditorium beginning at 6 p.m.
 
Candidates scheduled to take part include those running for the state House of Representatives, the Effingham Board of Education and the Effingham County Board of Commissioners.
 
Candidates for the two state House seats will be first on the agenda. Each will have one minute to make an opening statement before answering questions from a panel and will have two minutes for closing comments. Candidates are Republican incumbent Jon Burns and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Johnson for the 157th District and Republican incumbent Ann Purcell and Democratic challenger Tawana Garrett for the 159th District.
