Chamber of Commerce offers hands-on workshops and Business-Bites lunch

Springfield – The Effingham County Chamber is excited to announce a series of workshops available to local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community members on Wednesday, Nov. 13. These workshops are designed to provide practical, hands-on skills that participants can immediately apply to enhance their business operations, streamline processes, and boost growth. As detailed below, the workshops are scheduled at 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM, making them easily accessible for those with busy schedules. The featured workshops include:

1. Artificial Intelligence in Action: Hands-On Business Transformation – 1:30PM, Moncrief Square

Led by Jeremy Swiller, this interactive session is designed to give participants hands-on experience with popular AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot. Whether new to AI or an experienced user, participants will walk away with a custom AI prompt library tailored to their workflow and business goals. This session will teach them how to integrate AI effectively, transforming their operations.

2. Preparing Your Business for a Fast-Growing Market – 1:30PM, MARS Theatre

Join Jan Southern, CEO of J. DelSUR Marketing Group, for an insightful workshop on positioning businesses of all sizes and dispositions for success in a rapidly expanding market. Attendees will learn essential strategies to build brand strength, scale effectively, and confidently navigate the challenges of fast-paced growth.

3. Networking Like a Boss: A Master Class – 1:30PM, Moncrief Square

Diana Morrison, founder of Ad Specialty Services, will lead a dynamic workshop on networking strategies that go beyond exchanging business cards. Learn how to build meaningful, long-term relationships that open doors to business opportunities and growth. This session is designed to give you actionable tips for mastering the art of effective networking.

4. Building for the Future: Intelligent Growth – 2:30PM, MARS Theatre

Jacob Lang, president of Lang Commercial Real Estate, will guide participants through the ins and outs of commercial and retail development. This educational session sheds light on how retail and commercial opportunities find their way to Effingham County—and why some don’t. Learn the key factors that attract certain amenities and how intentional, sustainable growth benefits both local businesses and the community.

In addition to these workshops, the Chamber is also excited to host the Business Bites open networking lunch on Clevland Street at Laurel in downtown Springfield. At this networking luncheon, attendees can enjoy local cuisine while exchanging ideas and insights with fellow community members and business leaders. This lunch event allows for building connections in a relaxed, informal setting while staying informed on key trends impacting local businesses.
