SPRINGFIELD -- Several Effingham County offices will soon be moving from their present locations and relocating to 802 and 804 S. Laurel St. in Springfield, currently the Renasant Bank Complex.
This move will consolidate county services in a more convenient location with plenty of parking and newly renovated facilities. The move is imminent and will include staggered move-in dates for each department.
Development Services will be the first department to relocate. Its office will be closed on Friday for the move-out and will reopen Nov. 1 at the new location. The remaining departments will follow shortly afterward, with full relocation completion by the end of the year.
The “South Building” at 804 S.Laurel St. (next to the Renasant Bank) will include the Development Services Department and Effingham County Commission meeting chambers on the first floor, as well as the Finance Office, the Human Resources Office and the Georgia Department of Public Health Environmental Health Office on the second floor.
The “North Building” at 802 S. Laurel St. will house the clerk of commission’s and county manager’s Offices on the second floor above the Renasant Bank.
