Two Effingham County residents are behind bars after sheriff’s drug investigators arrested them for making methamphetamine Tuesday afternoon.

Acting on an anonymous tip, drug agents went to a home in the 2000 block of Silver Hill Church Road in northern Effingham County. They found Donna Senter, 31, of Clyo, and John Michael Ball, 25, of Clyo, in a shed with six meth labs, Detective David Ehsanipoor said.

“When the investigators got there, they could immediately detect the odor coming from the shed,” Ehsanipoor said. “They smelled the anhydrous ammonia.”

Ehsanipoor did not know how long Senter and Ball had been cooking the meth, but the smell was apparent in the immediate area.

Both are being charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. Senter and Ball are being held in the Effingham County Jail without bail.
