Aslan Nichole Leiby-Redden, Hwy. 80 – Entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit a theft or felony within.

Julio Plasencia, Midland Road/SR 30 – DUI, following too closely

Arleti Mesa-Cabrera, Midland Road/SR 30 – simple battery, family violence

Tiana Butts, Trade Center Drive – public drunkenness

Christie Patrice Abbott, Goshen Road/SR 21 – DUI, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, hit and run, passing in a no-passing zone

 

Incidents

ECSO Office – a man reported that he was being scammed by phone to pay money to prevent a relative from being tortured. The man was in Rincon for business, but the call came from a California area code. Deputy advised him to report the incident to local law enforcement when he returned home to document the scam.

Sandhill Road – an employee of Meldrim Materials reported that several unknown men trespassed on the property around 1:55 a.m., took a box containing unknown items, and attempted to hotwire Polaris Ranger. The employee believes it may be the same individuals who allegedly stole a vehicle from the property several weeks prior. That vehicle has since been recovered.

Cannochee Avenue – a man reported that he received a call from an unknown person who claimed that the IRS had his bank account information. The man ended the call and immediately called his bank. The bank closed that account and opened a new one for him.

Holly Lane – a man reported that his neighbor (a brother) was putting items along the electric fence in an attempt to short it out. The brother later reported that the first man had recorded him without his permission.

Cyane Lane – a man and a woman reported that an unknown person had allegedly backed into their mailbox with a vehicle leaving the mailbox damaged and the pole bent backwards. There were red taillight fragments on the ground next to the mailbox; a car parked across the street had a broken taillight. However, the taillight fragments did not match the broken taillight on the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle said the vehicle is inoperable and cannot be moved.

Midland Drive – a man reported he received a random text from another man saying he “shot a dark apparition in his vehicle and there was blood everywhere.” Chatham County officers were sent to the man’s last known address and were informed by the man’s ex-girlfriend that the man had moved out and was known to use meth. Statesboro PD was informed of the incident due to recent shootings in their jurisdiction.

Chester Thomson Road – a man and a woman reported that they have been receiving threatening calls and texts from their granddaughter and her friend demanding money.

Victoria Circle – deputies responded to a man and a woman having a verbal argument. The man left for the night.

Sandhill Road – a man reported that a disorderly person was on his property.

Hwy. 21/McCall Road N – a man reported that during a controlled burn a 2019 Caterpillar excavator caught on fire. The man used a fire extinguisher on it until Effingham County Fire arrived to put out the fire.

Chimney Road – a woman called to report that she and her husband had an argument regarding a cabinet the woman had told her son to throw away.

Clyde Road – a woman reported that her husband had taken her vehicle without her permission. The couple is in the process of separating. Since they are still legally married, the woman was informed that her car was still his legal property.

Friendship Road – a man reported that he and his wife were having a verbal argument.

Jenni Drive – a woman reported that Richard Ryan Sarabi is missing. He was a “no call/no show” for work at Effingham Hospital on Aug. 9, 12, and 13. He hasn’t been seen since Aug. 9.

Hardy Road – a man reported that an unknown person allegedly removed the tag from his semi-truck sometime between 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 13.

Brittany Court – a man reported than an unknown person allegedly stole his boat and trailer from his driveway. The boat is a green Landua Jon boat (16 ft by 46 inches) and has a 2000 model Mercury hp outboard engine.

Creekside Boulevard – a man reported that his 17 x18 ft. trailer allegedly was stolen from the overflow lot at the Creekside subdivision. He checked to find out if it was towed, but was unsuccessful. No security cameras are in the immediate area.
