Jason Paul Sapp, Zeigler Road – wanted person by ECSO.
Jack Claney Garvin, Hwy. 21S – citations issued for driving without insurance and driving with suspended registration.
James Edward Rigdon, Magnolia Drive – wanted person in Screven County.
Te’aunest Chadai Johnson, Hwy. 21 Bypass – speeding (76 mph in 55 mph zone), driving while unlicensed, possession of drug-related paraphernalia.
Whitney Nicole Kelton, S. Laurel Street – wanted person for “failure to appear.”
Joshua Michael Finch – McCall Road -- DUI
Incidents
Frederick Street – a woman reported that her husband had pushed her down and pulled her hair during an argument. Deputy did not see any evidence on her of any physical abuse and no arrest was made.
Ranch Road – a man reported that another man known to him had taken some firewood from the first man’s residence. The second man claimed that he was given permission over a year ago to “take some wood.” The complainant said if the wood was returned, he would not press charges. Deputy escorted the second man back to the residence to confirm that he returned the firewood.
ECSO office – a woman reported that people were making “harassing” comments about her son when his mugshot was posted on social media.
Long Bridge Road – a woman reported that she and her boyfriend had a loud verbal argument about the boyfriend changing the name of a group chat. Deputy confirmed the incident with the homeowner and both parties had left the scene to cool down.
Bark Drive – a woman reported that her neighbors – a man and a woman – were having a loud verbal argument in the front yard.
Old River Road – two men reported that they were receiving threatening texts from a recently terminated employee. They wanted the incidents documented.
Grace Lane – a woman reported that she had an argument with her fiancé during a Bible study. The woman said her fiancé had left on foot and maybe got a ride from someone else. She refused to ride with him since he had been drinking.
Parkway Drive – a safety manager reported that the license plate to an 18-wheeler had allegedly been stolen some time between Jan. 3 and Jan. 6. The plate was entered into the ECSO system as stolen.
Hwy. 119S – a man reported that his wallet was missing. The man was unsure if he accidentally dropped it or if someone took it between his house and the Parker’s in Guyton. He also notified Guyton PD since the incident is within its jurisdiction. The wallet contained cash and a Georgia Carry Permit.
Berry Lane – deputy responded to a complaint of a dog running at large. The dog was taken to animal control and scanned for a microchip. The dog’s owner was contacted and she picked him up. The dog was reported running at large again a few days later. Deputy issued a citation to the owner for dog running at large.
Hwy. 119 – deputy observed a vehicle that apparently had been in a wreck and was abandoned partially in the driveway of a gas station. The deputy was unsuccessful in contacting the registered owner of the vehicle and requested a tow service to remove the vehicle.
Bluff Road – Springfield PD responded to a home that had its front door forcibly broken into. Officer confirmed with a subcontractor that no items appeared to have been taken.
Effingham County Senior Center—Springfield PD responded to a report that an EMS ambulance had caused damage to an overhanging roof while backing up to the wheelchair ramp.
