Tommy Campbell, North Oak Street -- DUI

Christopher Alexander Clairmont, McCall Road – failure to stop at stop sign, driving while license is suspended.

Daphne Andrea Baldwin, GA Hwy. 119S – driving while unlicensed, suspended registration, nonworking brake light.

Charles Jeffrey Pye, GA Hwy 21S – citation issued for expired driver’s license, and driving without insurance.

Michael Edward Chism, McCall Road/Ralph Rahn Road – Probation violation, wanted person in Jenkins County.

John Paul Thompson, Fifth Street – DUI

Lorna Ashley Fortner, Dogwood Road – driving with suspended license, possession of marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia.

Lane Connor Dowden, Hwy. 21/Chatham County line – reckless driving, speeding (133 mph in 55 mph zone.)

Timar Kevon Griffin, West First Street – Driving while licensed is suspended.

Marlaina Louise McCready, McCall Road – Driving while licensed is suspended for “failure to appear.”

Marley Janie Mitchell, Hwy. 21S – driving while license is suspended for “failure to appear” and driving with expired license tags.

Bobby Wayne Ruff, Hwy. 21S – wanted person in Screven County.

 

Incidents

Springfield PD office – a woman called to report that someone was following and harassing her adult son.

Courthouse Road – Springfield patrol officer assisted Effingham County deputy transport a man to Effingham Hospital who had attempted self harm.

GA Hwy 21N – a woman reported that while driving down Hwy. 21, the hood of her car flew open and caused damage to her windshield. She wanted a report for insurance purposes.

GA 21 S – a store manager reported that a male customer was acting suspiciously then left. Patrol officer located the subject and told him about the complaint and that if he returned to the store acting in a threatening manner, he would be arrested for trespassing.

Conifer Drive – a woman reported that she believes the “mortgage holder” to her residence damaged her front door.

Clover Point Circle – a man reported that his car engine started smoking and then caught fire.

Highland Drive – a man reported that unknown person(s) punctured the tires of two vehicles on his property. Tires for both vehicles were estimated to be valued at $500. The man said he is not aware of any enemies or threats against him.

Chimney Road – a woman reported that her mother received a phone call from an unknown male demanding $4,000 claiming the woman’s grandson needed help. No money was transacted. The woman wanted the incident documented.

Old Dixie Hwy. S – a man reported that his fiancée accidentally backed a truck into the side of the house causing some damage. A report was needed for insurance.

McCall Road – a man reported that a neighbor was discharging a firearm in the director of his house. Deputy investigated and found the man with a target on a berm in front of a tree line in his backyard. This second man said he had permission to fire his firearm. The first man then called deputies a second time to report several bullet holes and damaged siding on his house. He wanted to file a report to have the damage repaired.

Road Atlanta – a woman reported that an unknown person allegedly made three unauthorized purchases with her credit card at Sam’s Club. The woman called her bank to cancel the card. The bank asked for a police report so it can issue her a new card.

ECSO lobby – a man reported that he had been the victim of identity theft. He gave deputies all the information he had obtained including the alleged suspect’s name, address, phone number and email. The man told deputies that he doesn’t believe he has lost any money thus far. He wanted the incident documented in case it continues.

Atlantic Avenue – a man reported that his neighbor’s two dogs had gotten out of their yard and one dog bit him on the forearm and chest. The man was taken to Effingham Hospital for treatment of the bites and possible rabies exposure. The owner of the dogs said they were current on their rabies vaccinations, but could not provide documentation. The owner was advised of quarantine procedures for the dogs.

North Pine Street – a man reported that an unknown vehicle allegedly struck his vehicle while he was at the Effingham County tag office. The driver of the other car did not leave any contact or insurance information.

GA Hwy 21N – Springfield PD responded to a four-vehicle accident. One driver said her car did not stop when she applied the brakes. One driver complained on pains on her face and chest. No other drivers/occupants reported any injuries.

Springfield PD – a woman reported that an unknown person struck her car in the parking lot while she was at the Effingham Fair.

South Laurel Street – two women reported they were scammed out of more than $700 for an application fee and a deposit to “Surprising Property Inc.” to rent a house in Rincon. Upon driving to the location, the women discovered the house had a real estate sign in front. They contacted the real estate company who told them it had no partnership nor had ever heard of “Surprising Property Inc.”
