RINCON -- Two bodies found in a Rincon home in early February were the result of a murder/suicide.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) concluded its investigation and found that the deaths of 57-year-old Robert Kenny and 45-year-old Jerry Rivera were due to a murder/suicide.

Results of the investigation indicates Rivera asked Kenny to come over to his home on Ellis Drive in the late afternoon of Feb. 1.

At some point after Kenny entered Rivera’s home, Rivera proceeded to shoot Kenny multiple times with a shotgun and then stab him several times with several knives before turning the shotgun on himself.

Autopsies are being conducted on both victims.
