The 2009 Dr. Ray Webb Scholarship committee has announced that they are now accepting applications for grants.
The Dr. Ray Webb Scholarship is designed to help those individuals in the health care field who do the necessary basic work at the hospital or other health care facilities, to enhance their knowledge and expertise.
Dr. Ray Darwin Webb believed that those with the health care experience are the ones who stay committed and endeavor to always raise the standards in the area of health care.
All scholarship applications must be in by 5 p.m. on Dec. 19. Each applicant for the Dr. Ray Webb Scholarship must be a resident of Effingham County and currently employed in the health care field, seeking to advance their skill and knowledge through further study and/or degree. Full requirements are explained in the application package.
Applications may be picked up at the patient registration area or a nurse’s station at Effingham Hospital. The scholarship is funded by contributions and handled through the oversight of the chief financial officer at Effingham Hospital. All contributions to the fund are tax deductible.
The Dr. Ray Webb Scholarship award ceremony is scheduled to take place in the community room on Effingham Hospital’s main campus on Jan. 2.
