Driver found guilty for driving into 2022 Rincon parade

Sentencing is scheduled on Aug. 8 for the person convicted of driving a vehicle into the 2022 Freedom Rings Parade in Rincon.

Anthony Rodriguez was found guilty of multiple aggravated assault charges on July 13. Charges from the incident include aggravated assault on a peace officer, obstruction, and fleeing an officer.

Rodriguez’s vehicle was stopped by Rincon Police Officer Ian Gallagher with K-9 Razor and Effingham County Sheriff Advanced Deputy Caleb Grovenstein.

Gallagher and Grovenstein were grand marshals of the 2023 Freedom Rings parade on June 24.
