ECSO, DPH to host Opioid Misuse and Prevention session

EFFINGHAM COUNTY -- In 2023, there were a total of 89 drug overdoses reported in Effingham County.

Five of them were fatal.
The public is invited to join the Effingham County Sheriff's Office and The Department of Public Health at the third public information session about Opioid Misuse and Overdose Prevention in Effingham County.
Sheriff's Deputies will be in attendance to talk about certain topics such as current drug trends in our area, identifying risks within family and friends and what steps to take in case of an emergency, to name a few.
The Department of Public Health will also be there to talk about the risks of Opioid use, NARCAN use and its distribution and availability.
Join ECSO and DPH Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Clyo Community Church, 426 Marion Avenue in Clyo. The event will be in Family Life Center directly behind the sanctuary.
