Special to the Herald

The Effingham Community Orchestra will present a Hispanic-themed concert on Sept. 14 at Rincon Global Methodist Church, beginning at 7 p.m.

According to director Charles Patterson, the program will consist of works by Jose Padilla (El Relicario), George Gates (Sol y Sombra), Consuelo Velazquez (Besame Mucho), among several others.

The program will include numbers performed by the jazz band and the entire orchestra.

Concerts are always free to the public, and donations are encouraged.

The orchestra’s next event is the Holiday Concert and “famous homemade cookie sale” on Dec. 7, also at the Global Methodist Church on Dec. 7.

The church is located at 107 Savannah Ave., Rincon.
