The Effingham County Branch of the NAACP will host its Freedom Fund Gala Sept. 30, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Guyton Civic Center Gym, 505 Magnolia St.

The Freedom Fund Gala returns after a two-year absence due to COVID-19.

“The theme of the 2023 Gala is, ‘And the Dream Lives On’,” said Nellar Lonon, chairperson of the event.

“The Honorable Mayor Van Johnson of Savannah will be the guest speaker,” said Henry Allen, president of the Effingham County Branch NAACP.

Tickets to the gala are $60 per person or $600 for a table of ten. Lonon added that formal attire is required and tickets are available through Sept. 15.

“The entire community is invited to celebrate the positive impact the Effingham County NAACP,” Allen added.
