Effingham County Chamber of Commerce hosts ‘State of Workforce’ luncheon

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Effingham County Board of Commissioners and supported by community partner Effingham County Industrial Development Authority, is now accepting registrations for the State of Workforce Luncheon.

The luncheon is Aug. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Effingham College and Career Academy in Rincon, and is an essential gathering for chamber members, citizens, and business professionals dedicated to understanding and shaping the future of the regional workforce.

The luncheon provides a platform for networking with peers, gaining expert perspectives, and learning about collaborative efforts to address workforce challenges. It aims to foster discussions that drive economic growth and sustainability in Effingham County.

The following roster of speakers will share their insights and expertise on workforce development: Anna Chafin, president and CEO of regional workforce organization RISE, will discuss the implementation of the recently released workforce study. Chafin brings a decade of experience as CEO of the Development Authority of Bryan County. Justin Farquhar, Vice President of RISE, will provide key insights, leveraging his experience as senior vice president of the Development Authority of Bryan County.

Scott Schrein, Deputy Director of the Skills Initiative at the German-American Chambers of Commerce, will offer perspectives on implementing German dual-vocational training initiatives in the southeast. Daniela Perry, vice president of the Georgia Chamber Foundation, will address strategic, data-driven efforts to address the future of talent in the state of Georgia and the coastal region, directing the chamber’s policy initiatives, research, and data analyses.
