MACON – Effingham County Farm Bureau (ECFB) was recognized for its outstanding member programs and agricultural advocacy activities at the 87th Annual Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) Convention held Dec. 8-10 on Jekyll Island. Stuart Exley is the ECFB president. Theresa Pevey is the ECFB office manager.

ECFB received the GFB Rewarding Excellence in Ag Program (REAP) Harvester Award in the organization’s large membership division. GFB’s REAP award honors county Farm Bureaus for the organization/membership, advocacy, leadership development, education & outreach activities they did between Sept. 1, 2023, and Aug. 31, 2024. The REAP Awards are divided into three tiers – Harvester (1st), Planter (2nd) and Cultivator (3rd) with tier winners in each of GFB’s three membership categories – small, medium and large.

“No grassroots organization succeeds without its volunteer leaders, and we are extremely blessed at Georgia Farm Bureau to have dedicated volunteers all over the state supporting Georgia agriculture,” said GFB President Tom McCall. “We’re proud of all of them, and we’re honored to recognize Effingham County for the work they have done to promote agriculture in the local community this past year.”
