Board member Vickie Decker has been named the new chairperson of the Effingham County School District Board of Education. Decker has been a member of the board since 2008.
Lamar Allen, who has served on the ECSD board since 2005 and has been chairman since 2007, will be stepping down from the chairman role.
While Allen will no longer serve as chairman, he will continue contributing to the ECSD board, representing District 3. The district looks forward to his continued guidance and expertise in this capacity.
In addition to these changes, Lynn Anderson from District 1 will be stepping into the role of vice chair. Anderson brings her experience and commitment to the leadership team.
Decker represents District 5. “Ms. Decker’s dedication to the betterment of education and her extensive experience within the board make her a valuable asset in leading Effingham County School District toward continued success,” the district said in a press release.
“The Effingham County School District appreciates the contributions and dedication of all of our board members. This marks a new chapter for the district, and the board is confident in this dynamic leadership team's continued growth and success,” the press release concluded.
