Effingham County stays solidly with GOP
Former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris in Georgia

Voters went to the polls Nov. 5 for the General Election; and with 88% of the precincts in Georgia reporting, former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris 2,485,588 (51.1%) to 2,343,566 (48.2%). As of 11p.m. Tuesday, Georgia has not been called for either candidate.

In Effingham County, Trump earned 26,925 (56%) of the vote to Harris’ 9,142 (19%).

Prior to Election Day, more than 24,000 Effingham County voters (almost 51%) cast their ballots either by absentee or early in person at the Effingham County Elections office in Springfield, according to the tally kept on the Effingham County web page.

Election Day saw just over an additional 12,000 voters (25%) at the polls – a nearly 76% voter turnout for the county.

Here are the results for contested races with all precincts reporting.
