Special to the Herald

Emmet Cahill, star of PBS phenomenon Celtic Thunder, has been widely hailed as Ireland’s most exciting young tenor. With funds made possible through The Fox Theatre Institute, Cahill will perform at the Historic Mars Theatre on March 2 at 7 p.m.

News of his sold-out debut concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall has turned heads with audiences throughout North America, and he is quickly building a reputation for being the gold voice of this generation. His performances of the Irish classics have compared him with the great Irish Tenor, John McCormack.

Cahill signed a major recording deal with Sony Music in 2017, and his debut album release went straight to Number One on the World Music Billboard charts, Amazon charts, and iTunes World Music.

Cahill takes the audience on a musical journey, allowing them to connect with their most cherished memories through beautiful songs such as Danny Boy, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, and My Wild Irish Rose, to name but a few.

His powerful, classical voice comes to the fore when performing Broadway hits such as Bring Him Home and Music Of The Night, as well as tender nostalgic favorites such as Moon River and Some Enchanted Evening.

Tickets range in price from $35-$55.00.  The Mars Theater is offering reserved seating for this event. Tickets can be purchased online at www.marstheatre.com, at Springfield City Hall, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or by contacting the box office at 912-754-1118.  Beer and wine are available at all live shows.
