Effingham Heros celebrated military and first responders at the Freedom Rings parade in Springfield on June 29.

The Float Judges selected the following winners: First Place went to Veteran's Tribute the second straight year. Second Place went to newcomer, Effingham BOE Bus shop; and VFW Rincon 12149 took Third Place with their addition of having a young man playing trumpet.  The President's Award went to Oak Grove Church of Christ with their float representing the theme "Stars and Stripes Y'all".

The parade featured entries from area fire departments and police; and a float with honoring heroes of the quarter. More photos can be seen on Effingham Heroes Facebook page. (Submitted photos.)
