Special to the Herald

The Georgia Salzburger Society celebrated its 99th annual Heritage Day on Sept. 2 at Ebenezer. The special speaker was Professor Dr. Thomas Müller-Bahlke, director of the Francke Foundations in Halle, Germany.

Rep. Jon Burns, speaker of the Georgia House, and Ann Purcell, Chair of the State Transportation Board, were both in attendance.

Purcell presented Dr. Müller-Bahlke with a resolution recognizing him for “his exemplary contributions to preserving the history of our Salzburger ancestors.” Speaker Burns has introduced a second resolution in the Georgia House to honor Dr. Müller-Bahlke.
