Fresh, locally grown produce, honey, and other items will be available to the public at the second farmer’s market sponsored by Women of the Word on July 8, from 8 a.m.-noon.
Vendors will be set up along the Guyton Walking Trail on Central Avenue.
“The first month went really well,” said Jennifer Townsend, from Women of the Word. “The produce vendors sold out, and some even restocked during the event.”
About 300 people attended, according to Townsend, which she believes was a really good turnout.
The number of vendors is limited to about 15. “We want to keep it more quaint,” she said.
Women of the Word meets at Guyton Methodist Church, 401 Church St., Guyton, but is nondenominational.
“We do our best to reach out to the local community,” Townsend explained. The group provided meals to local families for Thanksgiving; meals and toys at Christmas to other local families last year; and meals to local families for Easter.
A few spaces are still available for the July 8 Farmer’s Market. For more information or to reserve a space, email wowfarmmarket@gmail.com.
