SPRINGFIELD -- Effingham County school officials received notification that a current staff member at Effingham County High School (ECHS) has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Effingham County School District is working closely with Georgia Department of Health Officials to carefully evaluate necessary ongoing actions. The Department of Public Health will handle all tracing processes. District employees will keep all medical information confidential and will only disclose it on a need-to-know basis.

At this time, school will continue and parents/students may be contacted by DPH for additional information in regards to tracing and exposure. The district encourages students to wear masks and always monitor your sysmptoms.
