RINCON -- With the retirement announcement of Rincon Fire Chief Corey Rahn on Monday, Capt. William “Lou” Reed has been named interim chief.
Reed began his service with the City of Rincon in 2011. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2014 and captain in 2016. He has served as the highest-ranking full-time fire department officer in Rincon since.
Reed, who is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration, is fully qualified, having graduated from Fire Officer courses I-IV and Instructor Training I-III, as well as numerous and ongoing training courses
Reed said, “I am humbled and honored to be appointed interim chief and am blessed to have the finest department employees to work with to keep Rincon safe.
Mayor Ken Lee said, “We have been blessed with over 35 years of leadership from Chief Rahn, who has set the foundation for us to move forward, and I am excited that he is passing the torch to Capt. Reed to continue to build on his work."
