Effingham County Sheriff's Office

Special to the Herald

EFFINGHAM COUNTY -- Sex offenders, once again this year, will have to report to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office for Halloween.

Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie announced Oct. 24 that all sex offenders who are currently being supervised by probation or parole will report to the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Throughout Halloween Eve and Halloween night, deputies will be out patrolling neighborhoods and ahead of trick-or-treat time, will be “double-checking” on each of Effingham County sex offender’s home address.
