South Effingham cheer teams shine at ‘Battle in the Boro’

South Effingham High School's Competition Cheer Team delivered the winning performance at the Battle in the Boro Oct. 19, at Statesboro High School.

SEHS Cheer with flip
The SEHS varsity competition cheer team’s first place, finish was its second win following a victory at the Creekview Classic in Atlanta Oct. 12. The junior varsity team also made an impressive debut at their first competition, finishing in second place.

Effingham County High School (ECHS) also competed at Battle in the Boro finished in fourth place.

“Being a part of the competition cheer world is truly rewarding,” said Cynthia Hendricks, head coach at South Effingham High. “Even though we compete against each other, we always cheer each other on.”
