Both teams’ performances have qualified them to compete in the state championship at the Macon Centreplex Saturday, Nov. 16.

South Effingham holds the No. 3 ranking for Region 1 Class 5A in the state, solidifying their position as one of Georgia's top teams.

The state competition’s morning session will begin at 10 a.m., with Effingham County High expected to perform around 11:20 a.m. and South Effingham scheduled for approximately 12:30-12:40 p.m. These times are estimates based on the competition's performance order, as the GHSA provides only the sequence rather than specific times.

“I can’t say enough about this team! In all my years of coaching, I’ve never seen a group of young ladies get along like this group does,” said ECHS cheer coach Monica Kessler. “There is fun, excitement, encouragement, and support from one another at every practice. They want to be there. They love this sport, and they love each other! Coaching this group has been an absolute joy this season. I’m so proud of them and just hope they end this season feeling like their hard work and determination have paid off! I can’t wait to see what they do on Saturday.”

Both teams, families, and fans hope for a memorable and successful day in Macon as these dedicated athletes represent Effingham County on the state stage.
