GUYTON -- Longtime South Effingham Elementary School counselor Susan Hall has devised a purr-fect way to help a baby Mustang.
Hall and her school are rallying the community to help her and her cat, Chaco, win the $5,000 grand prize in the America's Favorite Pet Contest. If they win, she intends to give the prize to an SEES staff member whose newborn son is in a Florida hospital with serious medical issues.
Chaco has advanced the quarterfinal round and needs to win again to keep the prize dream alive. To advance to the semifinal. he must have the most votes in his group at 9 p.m. Thursday. The semifinals and final are set next week.
