The sun shone; air was cool and crisp. As soon as the parade started to make its way down Laurel Street in Springfield Monday morning, candy was flung by parade participants to waiting spectators. Local elected officials, community organizations, and churches decorated cars, trucks, and flatbed trailers to participate in the parade and to honor Dr.
