Area students competed in the annual Martin Luther King Day celebration by creating posters and writing essays based on the 2025 theme, “Beyond the Dream. Toward the Promise.”

Students were awarded first, second, third places and honorable mention in grade levels 1-3, 4-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

The contest was held by the Effingham County Branch NAACP and sponsored by Georgia Pacific.
