Effingham County investigators have arrested two juveniles and are actively investigating numerous threats to schools in Effingham County.
After the lockdown and investigation at South Effingham High School on Thursday, the copy cats were in full force Friday.
Listed are the threats received and investigated by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office in the last two days:
Thursday -- South Effingham High School, unsubstantiated; South Effingham Middle School, unsubstantiated
Friday -- South Effingham High School, juvenile arrested; Effingham County High Schoo, unsubstantiated; South Effingham Middle School, unsubstantiated; Effingham Career Academy, unsubstantiated; Ebenezer Middle, juvenile arrested on bus.
Investigators are actively and diligently working to identify the people making these threats. When they are identified, they will be arrested and charged.
Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie is going to petition the school board to add a day on the end of the school year for every day disrupted by these threats.
