GHSA axes football scrimmages, moves competitive cheerleading to winter and one-act play to spring

The Georgia High School Association on Thursday canceled football scrimmages set for Aug. 21 and Aug. 28 because of COVID-19 concerns. The regular season, meanwhile, is still slated to start Sept. 4.

In other moves, the GHSA moved competitive cheerleading to the winter and one-act play to the spring.
