Ansleigh Giordano has advanced to the Scott’s Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run championship Saturday at Turner Field.
Giordano is one of four girls in the age 7-8 division. She won her local event and then qualified for the team championship by being one of the highest four scores from Georgia, South Carolina, northern Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and North Carolina.
She is the daughter of Tom and Jessica Giordano. Giordano has the chance to advance to the MLB All-Star Game on July 12 at Petco Park in San Diego.
Only four girls from her group in the 30 major league markets will advance.
