Volunteers go undefeated

The Effingham County 10-and-under softball team finished its season undefeated. The Volunteers won its final game, 17-0.

The game was a “wish game,” where the girls picked their own positions and different parents coached the bases.

“Seven of the girls never played before and we are just excited with that they were able to accomplish during the season,” coach David Kelly Said.

Scott Peavy, Lee Kessler and Allen Kieffer assisted in coaching the team.
